Keeping children safe can involve many complex interactions between individual, education, and environment. Why do parents make the choices they do regarding the safety of their child(ren)? Learn about behavioral economics, public health theories and motivational interviewing. The application of these topics will allow you to influence parents and caregivers to make safer choices for their children.

At the end of this session the participant will be able to:
  • Define behavioral economics.
  • Name three ways of 'rolling with resistance' when working with parents/caregivers.
